Job Description & Skill Requirement:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical & Project Engineer with 10 -13 years of experience in the Chemical or FMCG industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical and piping systems for process plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. The role also includes on-site field support, vendor coordination, and technical troubleshooting during installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical Design
• Develop layouts, equipment selection, and support structures using industry-standard tools.
• Review P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and GA (General Arrangement) drawings for equipment and piping.
• Ensure proper pump, compressor, heat exchanger, and tank selection based on process requirements.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, instrumentation, and civil engineers to ensure seamless design integration.

2. Project Execution & Field Support
• Work closely with project teams to ensure timely execution of mechanical and piping designs.
• Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and procurement specifications.
• Provide on-site support during equipment installation, commissioning, and startup.
• Assist in resolving field issues related to mechanical and piping systems.
• Conduct site surveys, as-built documentation, and design modifications as required.
• Collaborate with fabrication and construction teams to resolve site-related issues.

3. Vendor Coordination & Support
• Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure equipment and piping components meet design requirements.
• Review vendor proposals, specifications, and drawings, providing feedback and approval.
• Conduct technical discussions and negotiations with vendors to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Assist in vendor inspections, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and site acceptance tests.
• Address and resolve vendor-related non-conformities or deviations from project specifications.
