Verdantas is seeking a Pipeline Design Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of natural gas transmission and related energy infrastructure projects. This is a remote position.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong technical expertise in pipeline systems, regulatory compliance, and multidisciplinary coordination across the full project lifecycle-from routing and design through construction and commissioning.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and support pipeline design and engineering for transmission and midstream infrastructure projects
  • Develop and review alignment sheets, routing plans, and design documentation
  • Perform hydraulic modeling and flow analysis using tools such as Synergi Gas, AFT Fathom, or PipeSim
  • Execute engineering calculations including MAOP, wall thickness, stress analysis, and class location assessments in accordance with 49 CFR 192 and ASME B31.8
  • Design and support facilities integration, including meter/regulator stations, compressor stations, and valve spacing
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, I&C) to deliver coordinated engineering solutions
  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide technical support during construction activities
  • Interface with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and project success
  • Contribute to technical reports, specifications, and permitting documentation with clear and concise writing
  • Support project tracking related to scope, schedule, and budget performance


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required. Preferred in PA/OH/WV.
  • 5-10+ years of pipeline engineering experience, focused on transmission systems
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline design codes (ASME B31.8, 49 CFR 192)
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling and pipeline system analysis
  • Familiarity with pipeline routing, alignment sheets, and design documentation
  • Prior experience with field activities or construction support
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites on occasion


Salary Range:

The compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status.
