Full Job Description
JRT Mechanical is seeking an experienced Pipefitting Foreman to lead our fabrication shop team. This position plays a critical role in coordinating production, maintaining quality standards, and developing shop personnel while supporting commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The Pipefitting Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating daily pipe fabrication operations to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards. This role oversees production workflow, manpower allocation, quality control, material readiness, shop organization, and employee development while serving as the primary leader for fabrication shop personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Scheduling
  • Coordinate daily fabrication activities based on project priorities and schedules.
  • Manage workflow between profiling, fitting, welding, inspection, and shipping.
  • Plan manpower and resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Review fabrication drawings and ensure work is ready for production.
  • Monitor production progress and resolve bottlenecks.
Quality Control
  • Ensure fabricated assemblies meet company quality standards and project specifications.
  • Verify dimensions, orientations, offsets, and fit-up accuracy.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout fabrication.
  • Maintain weld traceability, documentation, and corrective actions for non-conforming work.
Material & Equipment Management
  • Review upcoming work and identify material needs.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure material availability.
  • Oversee fabrication equipment readiness and maintenance.
  • Manage consumable inventory and material traceability.
Safety & Leadership
  • Enforce company safety policies and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized fabrication shop.
  • Lead, train, and mentor pipefitters, welders, helpers, and shop personnel.
  • Provide coaching, accountability, and performance feedback.
Documentation & Technology
  • Maintain fabrication records, weld logs, and production tracking.
  • Ensure proper use of Stratus GTP, QR code tracking, and fabrication status updates.
  • Verify documentation is complete prior to shipment.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication, fit-up, welding practices, and isometric drawings.
  • Experience supervising fabrication shop personnel and coordinating production activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of Stratus GTP and digital fabrication tracking systems preferred.

Job Type: Full-time.
Location: Tri-Cities, WA.
Pay Range: $30.00 - $48.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
