We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior PIM Architect to join our Commerce practice. Prefer candidates located a market with a Perficient office, with occasional travel.

Job Overview:

We are seeking someone with deep expertise in Product Information Management (PIM) and Product Experience Management (PXM) to lead strategic initiatives that help clients activate products and bring them to market effectively. This role is ideal for someone who understands the intersection of product data, merchandising, and customer experience-and can architect solutions that drive operational efficiency and digital shelf performance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement strategies that optimize how product content is created, managed, enriched, and syndicated across channels. This is a leadership role that blends business acumen, technical architecture, and consultative skills to deliver transformative outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of product activation strategies that align with business goals and customer expectations.
  • Architect solutions that support the end-to-end lifecycle of product content-from onboarding and enrichment to syndication and performance optimization.
  • Partner with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to understand how product data drives conversion, compliance, and brand consistency.
  • Define governance models for product data quality, completeness, and readiness for market.
  • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to assess current product content processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design scalable frameworks for managing product attributes, hierarchies, and relationships across categories and regions.
  • Guide clients in building internal capabilities around product content operations, including roles, workflows, and KPIs.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable architecture and implementation plans.
  • Mentor delivery teams and ensure alignment with strategic objectives throughout project execution.


Qualifications

  • A PIM Architect is expected to be knowledgeable in commercial PIM, including Akeneo, Inriver (and other solutions like Syndigo, Stibo).
  • 10+ years of experience in digital transformation, product content strategy, or enterprise architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience leading PIM/PXM initiatives focused on product activation and merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of how product content impacts eCommerce, retail, and omnichannel experiences.
  • Proven ability to design and implement product data models that support business agility and scalability.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and IT.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle processes including onboarding, enrichment, localization, and syndication.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments preferred.
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, support strategic initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations.
  • Proven experience in leading multiple concurrent projects and driving internal initiatives.
  • Experience leading customer workshop sessions to educate customers on the latest technology trends and best practices.
  • Ability to elicit requirements and communicate clearly with non-technical individuals, development teams, and other ancillary project members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Experience working with a globally distributed team and managing offshore teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field, or commensurate experience; Master's degree a plus.
  • Must be open to occasional travel.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with product content governance and operational models.
  • Understanding of digital shelf analytics and performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead change management and organizational readiness for PIM/PXM transformation.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in product experience, personalization, and content automation.

It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $152,118 to $202,730.
