Responsibilities

Full Job Description
We are currently looking for a pilot instructor to perform advanced mountain training, aircraft type and emergency training, vertical reference / water bucket training, basic and advanced NVG training and night rating. Here are the detailed responsibilities of the role: • Provide high-quality flight instruction to military and civilian students, ensuring safety, proficiency, and adherence to Transport Canada/FAA regulations. • Conduct both ground and in-flight training sessions for students at various experience levels. • Create and execute customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and progress. • Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. • Ensure proper maintenance of aircraft by conducting pre- and post-flight inspections and reporting any issues. • Maintain accurate and thorough student records, including flight logs and performance evaluations. • Stay updated on industry best practices, aviation standards, and changes in regulations. • Foster a professional and encouraging learning environment that promotes safety and confidence. • Conduct check rides, practical exams, and assist students in preparing for certification or course completion. • Coordinate with flight school staff to schedule lessons, aircraft, and other resources efficiently. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and skills: • 3000+ hrs with an extensive operational background • 1000 hrs minimum mountain experience • Type ratings on Bell 407,AS350 - H125, EC120 • Longline Proficient • Instructional background, teach both in the classroom and the aircraft - an asset • Working in a team-oriented environment • Self starter / takes initiative • Word/Excel/PDF/ PowerPoint - Proficient • Can work night shifts (NVG training or on contract) • English and Spanish speaking Additional Information Salary • Ranging from $133,000 to $180,000.
