Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Physics Based Simulation Software Acquisition Engineer to join the Air Force, Space and Intelligence Business Group providing systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The customer is developing the next generation of space and ground systems, architectures, and hardware and software solutions.

The Physics Based Simulation Software Acquisition Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to support physics-based modeling and simulation efforts for satellite system resiliency. As a key member of our on-site SETA team, the position plays a vital role in contributing to delivery of space protection capabilities into operations.

The Physics Based Simulation Software Acquisition Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Works in a collaborative team environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of problems in the Space domain.
• Identifies Agile solutions and program epics with acceptance criteria and ensures third-party developers align to government requirements.
• Optimizes pre-increment planning and iterative integration demos via Agile software development best practices.
• Assesses developer performance by analyzing contract demonstration deliverables and oversees testing for achieving pertinent objectives.
• Analyzes developer recommendations for software enhancements across cloud, on premises, and HPC environments.
• Writes Statements of Work for upcoming systems acquisitions.
• Advises the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) on developer performance through cost, schedule, and performance evaluation and analysis.
• Identifies risk and provides unique courses of action to solve complex technical problems.
• Reviews contractor submissions for technical accuracy and provides government personnel detailed critical analysis.

Qualifications

Minimum:
• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; master's and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD and four (4) years or more experience in a STEM related field (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer Science or similar)
• Possess the skill to communicate, coordinate, and engage customers independently.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and small team environment.
• Able to operate successfully both independently and as a team-member.
• Capability to communicate with clarity and accuracy both verbally and written.
• Familiarity with the functional mission areas and key intelligence issues.

Desired:
• Experience with physics-based modeling and simulation techniques and tools.
• Experience with AI/ML applications.
• Knowledge of intelligence production cycle, limitations, and when to apply engineering judgment.
