Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for this role. Ideal candidate would have 1-2 years experience in Orthopedics as a licensed Advanced Practice Provider in a clinical setting, but new graduates PA candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • As an APP at The South Bend Clinic, you will get the opportunity to:
  • Perform comprehensive skin examinations, conduct and interpret diagnostic testing, develop care plans.
  • Orders diagnostic testing, skin biopsies, laboratory, x-ray, and/or other non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Initiate collaboration with supervising physicians, referrals to appropriate physicians or other health care professionals of problems that exceed the NPs scope of practice.
  • Maintains communication with referring physicians while continuing to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice, with collaborative physician oversight and necessary mid-level practitioner-controlled substance license
  • Counsel patients on conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures, adjusting communication to the patient's age, psycho-social, and cultural needs to achieve optimal health outcomes in accordance with practice protocols
