Pediatrician

Location: Tampa, Florida

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a compassionate Pediatrician to join our primary care team.

The Pediatrician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents, including preventive services, acute treatment, chronic disease management, developmental care, and patient and family education.

This physician will also serve as a clinical resource to advanced practice providers, nursing staff, residents, students, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team while supporting TFHC's Patient-Centered Medical Home model.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care, including well-child visits, preventive services, acute care, and chronic disease management
  • Perform patient histories, physical examinations, clinical assessments, and medical diagnoses
  • Monitor growth, development, immunizations, and age-appropriate health screenings
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
  • Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate follow-up care
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment, wellness, and disease prevention
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialty care, diagnostic services, treatment, and follow-up
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation
  • Complete billing charges and clinical tasks in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Participate in daily care team huddles, peer review, and quality-improvement initiatives
  • Support efforts to close care gaps and improve pediatric health outcomes
  • Provide clinical guidance and oversight to advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other care team members
  • Teach and supervise residents, medical students, and allied health professionals when applicable
  • Support accreditation readiness, clinical quality measures, and organizational performance goals
  • Participate in after-hours coverage when assigned
  • Protect patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety
  • Comply with HIPAA, federal, state, accreditation, HRSA, and TFHC requirements

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board Certification required within one year of eligibility
  • Active and unrestricted Florida medical license
  • Active DEA registration
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to maintaining required continuing medical education and professional development
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and families from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems

NHSC Student Loan Repayment Opportunities

Tampa Family Health Centers operates National Health Service Corps-approved locations. Eligible Pediatricians assigned to a qualifying TFHC location may apply for federal student loan repayment opportunities through the NHSC.

Loan repayment is separate from TFHC salary, productivity incentives, paid time off, retirement benefits, and insurance coverage. Eligibility and awards are determined directly by HRSA based on the physician, qualifying educational debt, assigned location, available funding, and current program requirements.
