Position Overview

Cottage Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and experienced Ob/Gyn to join our team and lead the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families in our community. The Cottage Obstetrics & Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) Clinic is a practice led by women specialists offering comprehensive medical services, from routine wellness examinations to diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions, and complete obstetric care from pre-conception to pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum visits.

Responsibilities

This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.

  • Conducts routine clinical evaluations of patients to assess their health condition and discover possible issues. Asks intuitive questions to discover causes of illness. Conducts examinations of ill patients and evaluates symptoms to determine their condition. Cultivates a climate of trust and compassion for patients.
  • Examines and provides appropriate treatment within their specialty and refers patients to other physicians when needed. Monitors the quality of care delivered by the network, provides and manages utilization for enrolled participants.
  • Completes charting and documentation to maintain records of the patient's clinical status and appropriately documents diagnosis, treatment, or other significant information (e.g. allergic episodes) for the facilitation of patient care by the care team and for appropriate coding and billing.
  • Reaches an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient's medical history.


Qualifications

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
  • Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (DO).
  • Board Certified, American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Physician's unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California required.
  • Must meet all requirements for membership and unrestricted clinical privileges of the CH Medical Staff.
  • DEA within 30 days. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Successful completion of specialty fellowship preferred.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics. Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects, and contraindications.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
