Description

MaineHealth Endocrinology & Diabetes is seeking a FT BC/BE Endocrinologist to join 15 physicians and 8 Advanced Practice Providers in their greater Portland, Maine location and to support practice outreach initiatives in Maine.

Specialists at MaineHealth Endocrinology & Diabetes care for patients with glandular problems and endocrine problems, including thyroid disease, pituitary problems, adrenal disorders, transgender needs, reproductive concerns, disorders of growth and development, certain types of bone disease, diabetes mellitus, lipid disorders and other hormonal disorders. The Center offers comprehensive services, including dynamic testing for endocrine disorders, infusion services, DXA, 1-131 therapy, thyroid ultrasound and on-site biopsy.

Our Diabetes Education Program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA), and offers services including diabetes education and nutrition counseling, pump training, and classes offered by their Certified Diabetes Educators. Physicians have a full working relationship with area primary care physicians, endocrine surgeons, and have developed a comprehensive Diabetes in Pregnancy Program in conjunction with the physicians at MaineHealth Maternal-Fetal Medicine Portland.

The successful candidate will practice in Scarborough primarily but also may help support practice outreach initiatives by providing endocrinology and diabetes management services for patients in new and existing outreach clinics. Candidates will participate in ongoing quality projects and contribute to didactic sessions with MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Residents, and medical students from the MaineHealth Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program. Candidates must be fellowship trained in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
