Description

MaineHealth Pediatric Specialty Care is seeking a full-time BC/BE Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to join our practice site in Kennebunk, Maine. Candidates with interest in leadership are encouraged to apply, as the role will evolve over the next couple of years to encompass leadership of the Kennebunk site.

The Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics has five Developmental-Behavioral Pediatricians (DBPs), four psychologists/ neuropsychologists and a social worker in the Portland office, and a DBP, a psychologist and nurse practitioner in the Kennebunk office.

The Division provides diagnostic and management services for children with neuro-developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disability, including management of comorbid attentional disorders, anxiety/mood disorders, learning concerns, and sleep disorders. Division faculty participate in teaching of MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMCP) pediatric, internal medicine/pediatric and psychiatry residents, medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine, and primary care providers who pursue a 'mini-fellowship' through a HRSA LEND (Leadership Education in Neuro-Developmental Disabilities) grant.

The successful candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine. There are leadership opportunities within the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and the larger MaineHealth system. Research is encouraged through the Department of Pediatrics at Maine Medical Center Portland/Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, with support services available through the Maine Medical Center Research Institute and Barbara Bush Children's Hospital Scholars Academy. The Division has cultivated strong working relationships with colleagues in the divisions of child psychiatry and neurology, and with many local service agencies and schools. The working environment in the Division is busy, but collegial and collaborative.
