The School of Medicine, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, is excited to announce an opening for a Structural Heart Physician Assistant Specialty Care. Join our expanding team in providing exceptional medical care. This role bridges the outpatient clinic, inpatient hospital environment, imaging, referring providers, and multidisciplinary heart team to ensure seamless patient navigation, timely evaluation, and evidence-based care delivery for patients with structural heart disease.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Care: Evaluate and manage patients with aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valve disease, including pre- and post-procedural care for TAVR, TEER, TMVR, valve-in-valve, and other structural interventions.
• Valve Disease Management: Lead proactive surveillance and early identification of progressive valve disease; monitor patients approaching guideline-based intervention thresholds and coordinate timely escalation.
• AI Screening: Manage the EgNite AI screening program, including patient identification, referral coordination, outcome tracking, and workflow optimization.
• Care Coordination: Facilitate multidisciplinary Heart Team care, diagnostic testing, procedural readiness, transitions of care, and follow-up from referral through intervention.
• Patient & Provider Education: Provide education and outreach to patients, referring providers, healthcare staff, and community partners to promote early recognition and appropriate referral.
• Documentation & Quality: Optimize clinical documentation, support CDI and coding initiatives, and contribute to quality reporting, registry participation, accreditation readiness, and guideline-based care.
• Program Development: Support Structural Heart Program growth through data analysis, workflow improvement, standardized care pathways, and initiatives that enhance access, throughput, patient experience, and outcomes.
• Collaboration & Professional Development: Participate in inpatient consultation, Heart Team conferences, research activities, and maintain current knowledge of structural heart therapies, technologies, and guidelines.

• Strong, growing academic division - More than 20 cardiovascular faculty and six APPs providing comprehensive heart and vascular care across mid-Missouri.
• Experienced leadership - Led by Arun Kumar, MD, an interventional cardiologist and Professor of Medicine whose clinical and research interests include advanced interventional therapies, intravascular imaging and platelet biology.
• Full spectrum of cardiovascular care - Cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, non-invasive cardiology, cardiac critical care and comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services are all part of the program.

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program
Niche Professional Interests: Structural Heart, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular medicine, Heart failure, or Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $90,251.20 - $147,284.80 annually
