Qualifications

• 2 years of recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred.
• Recent Board eligible graduates accepted with required clinical rotation in CT Surgery.
• Endoscopic Vein Harvesting experience highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a physical science from an accredited institution required.
• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program required.
• Completion of basic and advanced cardiac life support training courses required.
• Certification by the NCCPA and Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to develop patient care plans.
• Administer medications and manage patient care during procedures.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
