Full Job Description
Under the general guidance of the medical director, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with diseases and adverse health conditions following the written guidelines approved by the department.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with inpatient and/or outpatient endocrine experience is preferred. They will deliver high quality, patient centered endocrinology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role is primarily outpatient based, with a portion of time (approximately 1/4) dedicated to inpatient coverage. All inpatient care is provided in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, board certified endocrinologists.
Schedule
• Primarily weekday schedule - Inpatient and Outpatient
• Typical hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Schedule and assigned location may vary based on patient needs, clinical operations, and organizational priorities
Primary location: St Clair Shores office
This position supports the Corewell Endocrine Center across other outpatient locations, including St. Clair Shores, Beverly Hills, Farmington Hills, Southfield, and Troy, with inpatient coverage primarily at Corewell Beaumont Hospital - Grosse Pointe. The APP will hold privileges across all Southeast Michigan Corewell Health hospitals, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of endocrine disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations and assessment
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans
• Manage endocrine related medications, including but not limited to:
• Diabetes therapies (insulin, GLP-1 receptor agonists)
• Thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders
• Hormone replacement and management (testosterone, estrogen, cortisol)
• Interpret diagnostic studies and data, including:
• Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data
• Laboratory testing and glucose trends
• Thyroid pathology and malignancy reports
• Participate in a structured onboarding and training program to support transition into specialty endocrinology practice
• Perform prior authorizations, complete medication refills, and answer messages in both the outpatient and inpatient settings
Care Coordination & Communication
• Collaborate closely with supervising endocrinologists and interdisciplinary care teams
• Support patient communication needs, including prescription refills, lab result review, and responding to office patient and inpatient inquiries
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, nursing staff, administrative teams, patients, and families
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Training:
• Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies
Work Experience:
• 1 to 3 years' experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in an Endocrinology setting, preferred.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
• State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required
• AHA/ARC BLS certification required
