Job Title: Physician Assistant Reports to: VP of Nursing and AddictionSummary:The Physician Assistant will provide high-quality mental health care to patients focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health issues, addictions and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse patient population of all ages including individuals with disabilities. In addition, this role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and remain flexible with job duties.
This Provider will focus on daily rounding in inpatient for primarily detox/substance use patients as well as providing mental health and substance use treatment in the outpatient setting. This Provider will need a strong ability to remain flexible to provide service to patients in inpatient and/or outpatient as warranted by demand.
Education Requirement:Experience Requirement:Clinical: 1-2 years psychiatric experience, with strong ability to work at a fast pace
Licensure/Certification Requirement:- PA License (Required)
- Physician's Assistant
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- DEA License (Required)
Key Job Responsibilities:- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families on mental health issues, including addiction, and treatment options
- Utilize telehealth services for remote patients
- Close charts within 24 hours (Collaborative Documentation)
- Ability to use electronic health record system
- Conduct psychiatric assessment
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic and addiction medications
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a Psychiatric inpatient/outpatient facility
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in mental health care practices
- Flexibility and adaptability to ensure service is provided in different settings, where necessary

Additional Job Requirements/Schedule:- Complete psychiatric assessments for patients in the crisis stabilization unit and/or OP clinic
- Complete multiple psychiatric assessments per day
- Complete daily rounds, follow ups, med evals as needed
- Split between locations, including inpatient and outpatient
- Other duties as needed
- Working closely with the addictions team and crisis team
- Attending outside community events
- Attending staffing and treatment team meetings
