Job purpose
The Medical Provider is a caring, compassionate, and committed provider who uses critical thinking and professional experience to provide the highest level of care. The incumbent will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will communicate and work collaboratively with the general practice team, the behavioral health team, and all other stakeholders to meet the needs of our patients.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conductscomprehensive medical evaluations, diagnosesmedical conditions, and developsindividualized treatment plans.
- Providesprimary care services, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care.
- Monitorspatient progress and adjuststreatmentplansas necessary.
- Collaborateswith other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.Works under collaboration agreements as needed.
- Consultswith specialists when needed for complex medical cases.
- Actsas a resource for fellow healthcare providers, sharingexpertisein HRT or endocrinology.
- Educatespatients on their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Providescounseling and guidance to patients on lifestyle modifications and health promotion.
- Maintainsaccurateand up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patients.
- Completesrequired documentation ina timelyand compliant manner.
- Adheresto clinical guidelines and best practices in patient care.
- Participatesin quality improvement initiatives andcontributesto the clinic's commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
- Attends outreach events as needed.
- Supervises APRN/PAprovidersas necessary.
- Performs other duties asrequired.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid FloridaState Medical License.
- Board certification in general practice, family medicine or internal medicine is preferred.
- Current DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Empathy and compassion for individuals with mental health challenges.
- Commitment tomaintainingpatient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
- Proficiencyin electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care.
Working conditions
- Prolonged period standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Work may be required in various environments as needed by project/activity.
