Active Physical Therapy license in Missouri or permit to practice pending examination

Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of physical therapy modalities and treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department.
Salary: $42 - $50 per hour
Responsibilities:
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and develop an individualized plan of care for patients establishing goals of treatment and a plan for discharge; taking into consideration the patients' needs and limitations.
Demonstrates appropriate skill and care in the treatment and management of patients.
Treats patient's disorders according to developed policies and procedures.
Consults with attending physician concerning the patient's needs and limitations, goals, plan of care, progress, and discharge plans.
Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Techs, etc.).
Provides written home care programs for patients to follow.
Develops a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of educational strategies; family and/or caregivers should be included in teaching, as appropriate.
Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency documenting treatment information. Documentation will be timely and completed properly and will include response to treatment and objective measurements.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family.
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety.
Maintains current knowledge of all aspects of Rehabilitation treatment strategies. Seeks to improve skills through in-services, seminars, educational meetings, education.
Is flexible with worked hours to meet department and facility needs.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Must hold an active license to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Missouri or a permit from the licensing board to practice while waiting for the licensure examination.
Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.
1+ years' experience is preferred.
