Job Responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide physical therapy assessments and treatment as indicated by referrals and assessments. Maintain statistics of those served.
  • Coordinate P.T. with other services offered at the MDC and Comprehensive Programs to include Rehab. Engineering and wheelchair prescriptions.
  • Identify new or improved programming in P.T. Keep abreast of new and innovative techniques and equipment related to P.T.; objectively evaluate how and why we are programmed and if positive changes can be made to improve services.
  • Coordinate prosthetics/orthotics clinic.
  • Attend meetings, review referrals for indications of needed P.T., and submit discharge summaries.
  • Provide assistance with tours and comprehensive programs training as needed by the administrator.
  • Provide wheelchair maintenance/repair for resident and community consumers' wheelchair and maintenance of P.T. equipment.
  • Serve as Program Manager for designated consumers

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and at least three years of experience as a physical therapist. Licensure as Registered Physical Therapist by the SC Board of Physical Therapy. Current CPR certification. Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.
