Qualifications:
  1. Graduate of an approved physical therapy program.
  2. Experience preferred.
  3. Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

The Physical Therapist will report to the Therapy Director
Essential Job Functions:

The Physical Therapist will carry out an individualized program of physical therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The Physical Therapist will also maintain a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff.
Specific Job Duties:
  1. Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and consults with other specialists. Reviews patients' functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  2. Designs and implements a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development and incorporates participation by significant others whenever it seems appropriate.
  3. Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care.
  4. Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals.
  5. Communicates effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  6. Practices hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  7. Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans. Regularly updates documentation and maintains prescriptions and signatures.
  8. Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops. Keeps up to date on professional literature.
  9. Provides direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community.

  11. Assists with keeping the department and gym area in order.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  1. Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services.
  2. Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Duties require extensive standing and walking.
  2. Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
  1. Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  2. Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the phone.
  3. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the phone.
  4. Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens
  5. Other: Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements. Must be able to withstand prolonged or considerable walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling or crouching.

Pay: $47 per hour per the PRN therapy scale.
