Full Job Description
UT Government is looking to add a Physical Security System Administrator to their team. The Physical Security System Administrator is supporting a Federal Physical Security Access Control systems. This position requires onsite resource located in the Washington, DC area and government clearance. Physical Security System Administrator is responsible for the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical systems infrastructure. This role ensures enterprise hardware, operating systems, and specialized software platforms maintain peak performance while adhering to organizational standards and security protocols. The administrator will provide expert-level support across a diverse technology ecosystem including enterprise solutions. As a System Administrator , the successful candidate will be hard working, detail-oriented, highly organized and able to work independently. System Operations & Monitoring • Develop, maintain, and comply with operating standards and guidelines that are consistent with industry recommended best practices and OCSO Security policies. Maintain comprehensive procedures to provide up-to-date technical guidance that ensures the efficiency, consistency and quality of systems and services. • Conduct proactive security assessments and intrusion detection • Programs system events, notifications, and alerts into an integrated security management system. These events, notifications, and alerts may include but are not limited to doorbell triggers, monitored door access denial notifications, access admissions, door releases, and forced door alerts. • Works directly with staff to ensure the PACS server has the latest server patches and ensures that planned system maintenance is completed during acceptable time periods to prevent interruptions to government operations. Technical Maintenance • Deploy system updates, patches, and configuration enhancements • Perform capacity planning and performance optimization • Maintain hardware resources and environmental monitoring systems • Provides direct support related to the daily operations of the PACS to EOP personnel, EOP contractors, as well as outside entities/agencies with a presence on the EOP complex. This may require scheduling appointments for personnel to have their cards/codes added to the integrated security management system. Problem Resolution • Collaborate effectively with other security members to resolve complex issues and contribute to the achievement of Physical Security strategic goals and objectives related to access control and other security systems/databases • Execute recovery procedures for hardware and software failures • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on complex issues Requirements: Technical Expertise • Proficiency in enterprise Windows environments and Active Directory management • Provide in-house basic training to government personnel on day to day operations of integrated security management systems. Basic training includes but is not limited to; add/changes/deletes to the database, developing clearances, creating new panels, doors, and readers in the database. This training will only be necessary on an as needed basis • Familiarity with security systems, access control, and video management solutions required • Responsible for maintaining and/or developing outside integrations with the integrated security management system which include but are not limited to; splunk, USAccess, employment databases, intrusion detection systems, and smtp mail servers in the support of system generated real-time notifications Security Requirements • This position requires eligibility for Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
