Summary

This position is located in the Division of Administration, Corporate Service Branch, Security Enterprise Programs Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of security services for all Washington, D.C. facilities and employees.

Duties

Help

  • Responsible for safeguarding personnel, facilities, sensitive information, and Corporation property.
  • Provides oversite of security operations at the headquarters facilities to ensure compliance with all regulations and directives.
  • Performs risk and threat assessments, security surveys and makes recommendations addressing facility physical security requirements before, during and after construction.
  • Develops and implements security strategies, standards and procedures for FDIC headquarters sites, service centers, regional offices and field offices.
  • Conducts risk assessments, inspects facilities, and evaluates the effectiveness of existing security practices and procedures. Develop plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts ongoing site surveys, evaluations, reviews, and audits to identify physical security conditions requiring corrective actions and determines additional requirements to minimize security vulnerabilities (e.g., building architectural alterations required to support installation of secure phones, facility security design for visitor control, analyze new facility plans and recommend necessary alterations, building access control, intrusion detection systems and closed circuit video).
  • Ensures compliance with national policies and FDIC directives and procedures for classification management, information sharing programs, and other related areas of security including physical security countermeasures, information security, and industrial security.

Must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance through a T5 background investigation.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing guidance on physical security matters in the protection of personnel, information, and facilities; drafting and implementing physical security policies and procedures; and serving as a liaison with federal, state, and local security services.
