Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Chief Metallurgist at our Phoenix operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned process area which includes the management and development of the operating budget.

Responsibilities:
  • The safe and efficient operation of the assigned process area which includes the management and development of the operating budget.
  • Providing timely solutions and data to aid in the understanding and improvement of plant performance.
  • Reviewing proposed designs and test plans for conformance with contract requirements and analyze test data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Reviewing and edit reports such as evaluation plans and technical program plans. Responsible for assuring that the generation, release, and maintenance of documentation is in accordance with Company and contractual requirements.
  • Accurate metallurgical allocation of gold and silver, including compliance with metallurgical accounting standards.
  • Reviewing and executing metallurgical accounting portions of ore and carbon processing contracts.
  • May inspect, certify, and evaluate onsite operational systems and design modifications.
  • Maintaining quality assurance standards.
  • Creating or developing an environment that supports creation of a productive, cohesive team
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:
  • BS in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a specialty area are necessary, including supervising an engineering area or project management preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of operations and key drivers of production required
  • In-depth understanding of gold pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy along with experimental design required
  • Six Sigma and Design of Experiments experience preferred
  • Experience in supervision of technical staff required
  • Experience presenting and publishing high-quality work required
  • Proven ability to lead innovative projects from conception through design required
  • Knowledge of metallurgical accounting practices and procedures required
  • Strong proven oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Maintain a valid driver's license issued by the state
