SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Strategic Planning Senior Advisor to join the Cigna Pharmacy Management Team. The Cigna Pharmacy team is accountable for 7M+ members that have a fully integrated benefit across pharmacy, medical, and more. This role blends strategic problem-solving and business acumen with a deep understanding of the pharmacy space to help deliver measurable outcomes across pharmacy initiatives.

The Senior Advisor partners across Product, Clinical, Operations, Technology, Analytics, Finance, Sales, and other matrix stakeholders to translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear opportunities, prioritize investments, build actionable roadmaps, and lead execution from intake through delivery and post-launch optimization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Business Acumen - Pharmacy Strategy, Roadmaps, and Value Creation
  • Support development of pharmacy strategy, strategic priorities, and multi-year roadmaps aligned to enterprise goals and integrated pharmacy outcomes.
  • Identify and frame high-impact opportunities using competitive/market context, internal performance insights, and stakeholder input; convert insights into decision-ready recommendations.
  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional partners by clarifying the "why/what," expected outcomes, constraints, and tradeoffs (e.g., access vs. affordability vs. operational feasibility).


Financial Acumen - Business Cases, ROI, and Investment Prioritization
  • Support financial assessments (value models, ROI, sensitivity/scenario analysis) to inform prioritization and funding decisions
  • Possess a deep understanding of the pharmacy/PBM/Health plan value chain
  • Present clear options to leadership, including risks, benefits, and dependencies-grounded in quantified value and practical execution feasibility.


Customer Experience (CX) Journey Mapping - E2E, Personas, Pain Points, and Requirements
  • Assess existing journey maps that span across pharmacy touchpoints (e.g., member, provider/prescriber, client, fulfillment channels) to identify friction, root causes, and "moments that matter that line back up to the strategy.
  • Facilitate working sessions to translate journey insights into actionable requirements, backlog items, and prioritized improvement themes (digital and non-digital).
  • Partner with the functional capability leads to ensure that the key stakeholders of patient, provider and team member are incorporated in solutions


Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop crisp, executive-ready deliverables (memos, presentations, storyline narratives) that translate complexity into decision-ready choices.
  • Build strong relationships and influence without authority-navigating enterprise complexity while maintaining a clear focus on outcomes and customer needs.
  • Support the Strategic planning team through in depth articulation of the priorities and the value they generate


IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Healthcare, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, pharmacy/PBM, healthcare operations, product strategy, or program/project management roles that required cross-functional leadership.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including business case development, ROI modeling, and scenario/sensitivity analysis (advanced Excel skills strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of supporting and developing strategic solutions
  • Ability to support the execution of key deliverables in support of the strategy
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, including building executive-level materials and presenting recommendations.
  • Advanced degree (MBA/MPH/MHA) or PharmD.
  • Experience with pharmacy benefit strategy, benefit design/configuration concepts, and/or claims/fulfillment operations.
  • Experience with strategy development for a large healthcare organization
  • Certifications: PMP, CSM/SAFe, Lean/Six Sigma (or equivalent applied experience).

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 119,600 - 199,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
