Position Overview:This is an American Society of Health System Pharmacy (ASHP)-accredited (pre-candidate status) one year limited term position. The residency position is on-the-job post-doctoral training for pharmacists to develop and demonstrate personal leadership qualities and business acumen essential to operate effectively within Sutter Health and to advance the profession and practice of pharmacy. The resident will work under the supervision of the Residency Program Director and assigned licensed pharmacist preceptors and residency site coordinators. Designs and executes a research study / health-system pharmacy project. During rotations, under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and Sutter Health Pharmacy Leaders, the resident will complete rotations in areas of competency focus that include health-system pharmacy leadership, clinical pharmacy administration in acute and ambulatory care settings, strategic sourcing & pharmaceutical contracting, health-system and hospital medication safety, formulary management, health plan administration - pharmacy managed care, finance and resource management, professional development, project management, and quality improvement.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:- Bachelor's: Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. or Pharm.D. degree
- Other: Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy and successful completion of an ASHP Accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:- PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist within 120 days
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations and laws and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of different Pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures.
- Knowledge and ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications.
- Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including TJC (The Joint Commission), Title XXII, DHS, DEA, FDA and USP.
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), related pharmaceutical technology, electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.

Pay Range is $42.86 to $42.86 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
