Job Summary

Coordinate the drug distribution and other pharmacy activities for The Centers. Is responsible for safe and efficient methods for coordination of established pharmacy policy concerning drug patient care. Provide clinical drug information to meet the needs of the patient and members of the healthcare team. Accepts legal responsibilities as the responsible pharmacist in charge.

Job Qualifications
  • Must be a Licensed, Registered Pharmacist in the state of Ohio (RPh or PharmD).
  • Must be vaccination certified and able to provide vaccines and other approved injectable medications
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary team settings.
  • Must have knowledge of current pharmacy laws and best practices.
  • Outstanding customer service skills as the successful candidate will be the face of pharmacy to the Centers' clients as well as coworkers and medical colleagues.
  • Must have an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.


Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily workflow, medication dispensing, and provide patient services.
  • Reviews and interprets physicians' orders for appropriateness, ensure that interactions, incompatibilities, or toxic compounds will not result from the combination of medications; ensure that drugs are appropriately labeled, stored, and utilized according to physicians' instructions.
  • Dispense prescriptions to outpatients in accordance with The Centers' policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws, controlled substance regulations, and proper record-keeping.
  • Counsel patients about their medications, advise on drug interactions, collaborate with providers, and maintain an accurate up-to-date patient profile.
  • Supervise adherence packing of drugs and control procedures.
  • Provide drug information such as dosing, compatibilities, formulary substitutes, etc. to nursing, physicians and other health care practitioners.
  • Participate in in-service education programs when requested.
  • Participate in the development of policy, procedure and workflow to ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
  • Lead, train, evaluate, and schedule technicians and support staff.
  • Manage ordering, storage, and security of medications, including controlled substances.
  • Conduct inventories and cycle counts in accordance with The Centers' policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the profession by participation in organization memberships; attendance at meetings, lectures, in-services, seminars; reading journals; comply with National Standards of Continuing Education in order to maintain professional competency and proficiency.
  • Assure that the quality of professional services is maintained.
  • Manage acquisition and administration of vaccines.
  • Help pilot new programs while providing feedback and planning the rollout and execution to other sites.
  • Help collect and document relevant pharmacy data and information that can be used to evaluate, assess and modify pharmacy practices across the dispensing pharmacies and communicate this with the VP of Pharmacy Services.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
