Key job responsibilities
• Lead and supervise a team of 10-25 direct reports within Pharmacy Operations. Responsible for the
overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of department performance at the site.
• Know which decisions to make independently and which need approval; pursue approval and get
other stakeholders in alignment
• Responsible for meeting our customers' needs by planning and implementing processes and
procedures that will improve the department's results and improve efficiencies
• Interview, hire, and support documented training experiences for all team members in partnership
with Recruiting, Human Resources, and Training teams
• Develop team members by providing mentorship, educational opportunities, and progressive growth
opportunities
• Responsible for the performance management and accountability of the team members within the
department
• Challenges best practices to invent novel ways of solving a problem. Operates with intent, succinctly
sets relevant context and summary of purpose
• Maintain regular check ins with Direct Reports
• Responsible for ensuring accurate staffing, hiring, and scheduling to meet company goals and
forecasted budget
• Frequently identifies opportunities for improvement based on data inputs and performs deep dive
analysis to identify and solve for root-cause of problems
• Acts quickly to uncover any potential areas of risk or opportunity; proactively communicates relevant
issues with appropriate recommendations
• Consistently maintain and/or exceed department's defined operational goals. Provides senior
leadership with business review data, identifying highlights and areas for improvement
• Collaborate and partner with key stakeholders and leaders across multiple departments and locations,
in order to remove roadblocks, increase productivity, and define workflows
• Consult and collaborate with product team to prioritize and drive Roadmap initiatives
• Execute Company objectives through Amazon Leadership Principles as they relate to the department's
function
• Leverages subject matter expertise in multiple areas including but not limited to: 1) organizational
product, partner, and process initiatives, 2) Compliance and 3) Quality.
• Support pharmacy interns with career and professional development
• Develop relationships with pharmacy schools to host students and create unique learning experiences
• Accomplish all other required tasks as noted above or assigned by senior leadership
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
- Ability to work from the Amazon Pharmacy facility
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in domicile state
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in a minimum of 8 out of 17 US states which require a Non-resident PIC license, or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months in role. PIC will assign the 8 state licenses based on what is currently needed for redundancy purposes. This requirement is only applicable to roles that are tied to a dispensing pharmacy location
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of team leadership and development experience
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations surrounding pharmacy practices
- and patient safety
- Progressive pharmacy management experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment and adjust focus as needed
- Ability to collaborate and work well with leaders and peers at various levels within the organization
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
