Cardinal Health manages Pharmacy Services for PAM Health, a nation-wide leader in providing Long-Term Acute Care (LTACH), Rehabilitation, and Behavioral Health Services. We are seeking a highly motivated pharmacist to lead two LTACH facilities in San Antonio.
The manager will hold PIC at the PAM Health Specialty Hospital of San Antonio-South Campus in the Medical Center. This team consists of two pharmacists and two technicians in addition to shared PRN staff.
Pharmacy Hours - Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 4PM, Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 2PM
Job Summary
The Manager, Pharmacy coordinates, directs, manages, facilitates, and oversees the execution and evaluates all administrative and clinical activities. Through the optimization of procedures, this role ensures consistent and efficient delivery to control costs, minimize waste, optimize customer relationships and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. Along with maintain inventory control and budget, this role is responsible for staffing, monitoring staff activities, performance and achievement of individual and departmental goals.
Responsibilities
34; Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates all clinical activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including supervision of refilling machines, medical prescriptions database entries and dispatch of medicines.
34; Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates all administrative activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including scheduling of pharmacy technicians tasks, monitoring process compliance and monthly reporting.
34; Implements process and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling including reception and storage of medicines, inventory and expenses controls.
34; Manages day to day activities of the pharmacy technicians and monitors their performance to meet departmental goals.
34; In the absence of medicines, communicates with nursing, doctors and administrative areas to provide alternatives and also makes and/or supervises preparation of interveinal drugs.
34; Maintains pharmacists certifications and maintenance of database privileges and access controls to medical records.
34; Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist.
34; Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory and executes necessary orders, including reviews, to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs, identifying and procuring alternative drugs to mitigate risks, when necessary.
34; Leads processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, and performance management, including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.
34; Manages internal workflows of acute pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.
34; Participates in meetings and provides insight to hospital committees to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups.
34; Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business.
34; Assumes responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring and completing End of the Month reports as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications
34; Bachelors degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
34; Must be a good standing licensed Pharmacist and/or eligible for licensure in the state of Texas.
34; IV certified or ability to obtain certification.
34; Hospital/Inpatient experience highly preferred.
34; Pharmacist in charge or pharmacy management experience highly preferred. A0

Anticipated salary range: A0$111,500 - $175,340.
