Field: This field-based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands-on engagement.

This position will require travel up to 50% travel across Central Time Zones.
Alternate locations may be considered with ideal candidates being located in Central Time Zones.
The Pharmacy Account Director is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external employer group clients within a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) environment, serving as the primary client-facing lead and trusted advisor. This role is accountable for delivering strategic insights, managing pharmacy benefit performance, and driving client satisfaction through strong consultative skills and data-driven recommendations to optimize cost, utilization, and overall pharmacy outcomes.
How You Will Make an Impact
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the primary client-facing representative, managing day-to-day client inquiries while building and maintaining strong relationships with employer group clients and associated consultants/brokers.
Execute strategic account plans by consulting with key decision makers and stakeholders, providing data-driven insights on pharmacy utilization, spend, and market trends to inform client-specific strategies.
Lead and support contract negotiations and renewal activities, including participation in RFP (Request for Proposal) processes.
Develop and deliver strategic benefit design recommendations, programs, and solutions to help clients manage pharmacy spend and improve outcomes.
Partner cross-functionally with internal teams (account management, clinical, and operations) to deliver seamless service and implement client-specific solutions.
Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, strategies, and activities within CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, & Experiences:
Prior experience in the healthcare industry with a strong focus on Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), ideally within payer or PBM organizations is preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex employer group clients (including national accounts with significant member populations) in a client-facing account management role is preferred.
Experience with PBM contracting, including negotiation, redlining, and renewal of client agreements, as well as participation in RFP (Request for Proposal) processes is preferred.
Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret pharmacy utilization, claims, and spend data to develop strategic, client-specific recommendations and cost-containment strategies is preferred.
Proven ability to build relationships and present strategic insights to executive-level stakeholders, while partnering effectively with internal teams, consultants, and brokers is preferred.
Experience utilizing CRM tools such as Salesforce to manage client activity, maintain documentation, and support a highly organized, client-facing environment is preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $156,816.00 to $235,224.00.
