Full Job Description
Responsible for performing all aspects of pharmaceutical care for the hospital system patients including: effective drug use control; safe and efficient drug distribution; appropriate medication selection; provision of drug information to meet the needs of physicians, nurses, patients and ancillary department personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Ensures safe, appropriate and cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Contributes to the quality and effective management of the Pharmacy Department operation.
  • Maintains competency as required for current job position/title.
  • Supervises technical and non-registered staff.
  • Effectively operates equipment pertinent to practice area.
  • Demonstrates the values and behaviors of the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Must be graduate of a school or college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience and/or an American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
  • Accredited residency program is preferred, but not required.
  • Licensure: Must possess and maintain an Ohio State license as a Registered Pharmacist.
