Qualifications

Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Inpatient Clinical Staff Pharmacist I oversees and directly contributes to compounding, preparation, and dispensing of medications for neonatal through adult patients in accordance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Medicare/Medicaid standards and Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations. Activities include medication order review and verification, clarification of medication orders with providers and nurses when appropriate, participation in programmatic departmental operational and clinical initiatives, participation in medical emergencies, accurate and informed use of department technology and drug information resources, checking accuracy of sterile and non-sterile products and labels prior to dispensing, and supervising the activity of pharmacy technicians

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A Pharm.D. Degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required. Completion of an ASHP-accredited Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience (3 years in hospital pharmacy) strongly preferred

LICENSURE

Current Pharmacy and Pharmacy Preceptor licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Texas is required
