Full Job Description
As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications by providing pharmaceutical care to our patients. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing medication therapy outcomes, maintaining compliance with regulations, and delivering excellent customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

Reporting to the General Manager/Pharmacist In-Charge of Custom Health Toronto to Pharmacy, this position is responsible for fulfilling prescriptions in adherence packaging, using state-of-the-art technology, and shipping them to pharmacies (patients across Ontario) and long-term care facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring that prescriptions are accurately and timely filled for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review prescriptions and accurately dispense prescribed drugs in compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines within a retail pharmacy setting.
  • Engage with patients to gather comprehensive medical histories and maintain accurate medication profiles, ensuring personalized care and safety.
  • Address customer queries regarding medications, offering expert advice on drug safety, potential interactions, and proper usage.
  • Provide seamless delivery and initial setup of Spencer devices in patients' homes, enhancing medication adherence and convenience.
  • Facilitate prescription transfers, manage incoming physician calls, and conduct drug utilization reviews for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure meticulous input and maintenance of patient and financial records in adherence to company policies and guidelines.
  • Timely and accurate generation of reports from Adherenet software for streamlined pharmacy operations.
  • Take responsibility for drug procurement, dispensing, monitoring, and offering drug-related information to the professional staff.
  • Oversee and support Pharmacy Technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of automated dispensing machines for quick and accurate medication dispensation.
  • Assist in the preparation of shipping orders and billing procedures to maintain smooth operations.
  • Represent Custom Health as a knowledgeable, professional, and respected brand ambassador, embodying the organization's values and image.
  • Perform any additional assignments as required by the operational unit, company, or directed by the Board of Pharmacy.


Requirements

  • Must hold a valid RPh licensed in Ontario.
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional pharmacy experience in a retail setting is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Kroll software, experience in Long-Term Care and hands-on experience in automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the elderly population and provide clear and compassionate assistance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on building patient rapport.
  • Display exceptional listening and interpersonal abilities to ensure patient satisfaction and trust.
  • Exhibit a professional attitude, maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a virtual or decentralized team.
