Heuser & Heuser represents injured people across southern Colorado from offices in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Founded in 1996, we are a second-generation, family-owned, and Veteran-owned firm. We handle personal injury matters from intake through trial, and our litigation team works cases from the filing of the complaint through trial and appeal.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do
• Carry a caseload of roughly 30-50 litigated personal injury files from filing through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions, including plaintiff and defendant.
• Draft and argue discovery and dispositive motions.
• Develop case theory, work with retained experts, and prepare files for mediation and trial.
• Handle deadlines with care and professionalism.
• Meet and communicate regularly with clients.
• Direct the work of a case manager assigned to your files.
• Appear in district courts in all counties in Colorado and attend mediations and settlement conferences.
• Appear in federal court.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For
• Licensed and in good standing with the Colorado Supreme Court, or eligible for admission on motion under C.R.C.P. 203.2.
• Five years or more of civil litigation experience. Plaintiff-side personal injury experience is preferred, and defense-side litigation experience transfers well here.
• Independent deposition and motion practice experience.
• Clear, direct legal writing.
• Comfort working in a cloud case management system.
