Job Description

We are hiring an experienced, regulatory-savvy Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) and responsible person for manufacturing to own Maintenance/Manufacturing operations to ensure it is executed per our TCCA Maintenance and Manufacturing Policy Manual (MPM) and Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) requirements, liaison with Transport Canada, and inspire our team to better service our customers.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities
  • Supervise and approve maintenance and manufacturing operations and ensure they meet our MPM and the CARs requirements.
  • Act as Honeywell Aerospace Ottawa's formal liaison with Transport Canada.
  • Formulate, review and approve policies, procedures, and MPM amendments.
  • Manage technical records and control access rights.
  • Assign tasks and ensure Work Orders are completed per the MPMs.
  • Monitor maintenance and manufacturing staff or subcontractors ensuring Quality Assurance (QA) policies are applied.
  • Ensure adequate calibrated tools, equipment and engineering standards are available and maintained.
  • Oversee onboarding and training program; perform or delegate written/oral/practical assessments for new candidates and after staff training.
  • Authorize Shop Certification Authority (SCA) holders and control Authorized Release Certificate signatories.
  • Oversight of the Safety Management System (SMS) as required by CAR 573.30.


Qualifications

The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000-140,000 in Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell Aerospace considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

The Honeywell Aerospace building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and CSP security clearance.

Must Have:
  • College diploma in aircraft electronics, aircraft electrical or related field
  • 6+ years' experience in the performance or direct supervision of maintenance activities of avionics systems, at least six months of which have been obtained within the preceding two years as required per Canadian Aviation Requirements (CAR) 573.03

If the candidate does NOT hold a Canadian AME license, they must pass a Transport Canada open-book (PRMN) exam on CARs demonstrating regulatory knowledge. All candidates are required to complete the oral interview with Transport Canada before hiring.

  • Knowledge of record keeping requirements.
  • Identification of acceptable reference data for repairs and modifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of liaising with regulatory authorities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and deliver.
  • Pre-requisite Transport Canada Exam oral interview with Transport Canada
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) by CAR 573.30 if required by bilateral agreement approvals.
