Performance Marketing Strategy Manager

Introduction to the Team

Expedia Group B2B connects partners across the travel industry to our leading technology, supply, and services-helping them deliver seamless travel experiences to their customers. From airlines and hotels to financial institutions and other travel platforms, we power smarter, faster, and more impactful travel solutions through the most connected marketplace in the world.

Make an Impact

The Performance Marketing Strategy Manager will support paid media strategy for Expedia Group's B2B Supply Marketing business. This role connects business goals to channel planning, strengthens how the team operates, and supports better decisions across planning, performance reviews, budget recommendations, and agency management.

You will work across a complex paid media portfolio with channel and performance specialists, internal stakeholders, agencies, and external partners. Your judgment, cross-functional partnership, and ability to execute independently will help surface the right work, clarify priorities, and keep the portfolio moving against the most important business needs.

In This Role, You Will

  • Support cross-channel paid media planning by translating business goals into actionable priorities, recommendations, and next steps across SEM, paid social, and programmatic.

  • Partner with channel specialists, performance specialists, agencies, vendors, and teams including analytics, finance, creative, and product to support strategic priorities and day-to-day decision-making.

  • Establish and maintain a clear operating rhythm for prioritization, performance reviews, issue triage, escalation, accountability, and follow-through across the paid media portfolio.

  • Drive weekly performance readouts for leadership, translating channel inputs into a clear portfolio narrative that highlights actions, risks, recommendations, and unresolved measurement gaps.

  • Provide budget allocation recommendations and conduct regular budget check-ins to ensure pacing and investment decisions remain aligned to business goals.

  • Improve decision quality by distinguishing verified performance from directional signals, identifying channel mix and experimentation opportunities, and ensuring recommendations are grounded in business relevance and measurement quality.

  • Identify manual, slow, or ambiguous reporting, measurement, and planning workflows and help convert them into more durable, scalable processes.

What Success Looks Like

  • Paid media decisions are faster, clearer, and better grounded in evidence.

  • Channel and performance specialists have clear direction on priorities, ownership, and escalation paths.

  • Monthly budgets are managed and monitored with greater rigor across the portfolio.

  • Leadership receives clear weekly performance narratives, budget recommendations, and actionable opportunities.

  • Measurement limitations are surfaced early and handled deliberately.

  • Reporting, prioritization, and escalation cadences are consistent across the portfolio.

  • The function is less dependent on manual reconciliation and individual backstopping and is more resilient as a system.

Experience and Qualifications

  • You have significant experience in paid media, performance marketing, growth marketing, or a related strategy and operations role.

  • You have demonstrated success supporting cross-channel paid media planning across multiple publishers and performance objectives, including SEM, paid social, and programmatic.

  • You have strong judgment and can work independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

  • You have experience making budget allocation recommendations, participating in pacing discussions, and supporting performance tradeoff decisions across a paid media portfolio.

  • You can translate data into executive-ready weekly performance narratives, recommendations, and business cases.

  • You have experience working with agencies or external vendors and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without relying on direct authority.

  • You have deep familiarity with performance measurement, attribution tradeoffs, reporting limitations, and diagnosing performance or process issues.

  • You have proven experience designing or improving operating models, cadences, workflows, or business processes in a marketing organization.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for senior audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in travel, B2B marketing, marketplace, ecommerce, or another high-scale digital acquisition business.

  • Familiarity with paid media and measurement tools and data environments, such as platform reporting, GA4, campaign management tools, and performance reporting systems.

  • Experience balancing strategic planning with day-to-day operational realities in a lean or capacity-constrained team environment.

  • Comfort balancing near-term performance demands with longer-term capability building.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $104,000.00 to $145,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $166,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
