Role Overview
The Performance Marketer owns organic enrollment growth for Impact Theory University. You'll drive members into ITU through social media via both paid and organic traffic, our newsletters, and our free webinar and masterclass series - writing the copy, running the funnel, and owning the numbers end-to-end. This is a hands-on role designed for someone who likes autonomy and clear goal ownership.
Today, ITU's growth is almost entirely organic: earned attention converted into enrollment. You'll be working with an established audience in the millions and a deep library of existing content, with the mandate to build the connective tissue between our core audience and our membership program. Paid acquisition is a robust part of what the role entails, but we have an organic-first content philosophy that requires someone who can produce and execute on social content that gets shared.
This is a strong fit for a hands-on operator who writes exceptionally well and knows how to turn a piece of creative into unit economics. You will not be managing a team or handing work to an agency; you'll be producing, creating, and shipping the posts, the emails, and the landing pages yourself. There is a creative team for anything that requires editing, though the bulk of the role will be around text-based creative.
Please note: this is a temporary, full-time assignment covering a team member's parental leave, running approximately four (4) months but subject to change. We are looking for someone who can be productive quickly, hold the growth function steady through the coverage period, and leave it in better shape than they found it.
Extension or conversion to a permanent role may be considered based on business needs and performance.RequirementsKey Responsibilities
Organic Growth and Content Distribution- Own organic social strategy for long-form text posts and day-to-day execution across the Impact Theory brand and founder accounts - cadence, formats, hooks, and the path from post to email list to enrollment.
- Identify which existing content is already producing enrollments and build repeatable distribution systems around it.
- Partner with key stakeholders to shape content that serves ITU conversion.
Email and Newsletter- Own the newsletter editorial calendar, list growth, segmentation, and deliverability.
- Build and optimize nurture sequences that move free subscribers to paying ITU members.
- Own open rates, click rates, and email-attributed enrollment.
Webinars and Masterclasses- Own the full lifecycle of free webinars and masterclasses: topic selection, registration pages, promotional and reminder sequences, live experience, offer presentation, and replay windows.
- Drive improvement in registration rate, show-up rate, and webinar-to-enrollment conversion.
- Coordinate with Production, Product team, and talent on scheduling, prep, and delivery.
Funnel and Conversion- Own landing pages, lead magnets, checkout flow, and offer architecture across ITU's tiers.
- Improve paid conversion, onboarding, churn reduction, and win-back.
- Write and test the direct-response copy across every stage of the funnel.
Advertiser Ad Copy- Write host-read scripts and ad copy for third-party advertisers running on our podcast and YouTube properties, including Impact Theory, Women of Impact, and Mayim Bialik's Breakdown.
- Translate advertiser briefs, approved talking points, and brand guidelines into copy that lands in the host's voice and holds audience attention.
- Partner with Partnerships and Ad Operations on creative intake, approvals, and revision cycles, meeting campaign delivery deadlines.
Measurement and Reporting- Maintain UTM discipline and a source-of-truth reporting view across HubSpot, GA4, Stripe, PayPal, and PayKickstart.
- Produce weekly and monthly reporting on enrollment, acquisition cost, LTV, and churn.
- Surface risks and opportunities to leadership with a clear recommendation attached.
Paid Media - Continue to scale profitable paid customer acquisition - tracking readiness, creative inventory, and target payback economics - and run small controlled tests to continually improve metrics.
Cross-Functional Alignment- Collaborate with ITU Product Team to improve customer retention and marketing messaging.
- Serve as the day-to-day marketing point of contact for Partnerships / Ad Sales.
- Communicate proactively when timelines, assets, or approvals are at risk.
- Document and continuously improve growth playbooks and SOPs.
Continuity and Handoff- Maintain clear, current documentation of campaigns, sequences, and reporting so work is legible to the wider team throughout the assignment.
- Deliver a structured handoff at the close of the coverage period, including active initiatives, performance baselines, and recommended next steps.
