Performance Excellence Advisor

About the Opportunity

The Performance Excellence Advisor is a key member of the Stamford Health Performance Excellence team, advancing high-impact strategic, operational, and financial initiatives across the health system to ensure effective, timely execution against our highest organizational priorities. Reporting to the Director of Performance Excellence, this role leads complex workstreams, develops sophisticated analyses, and partners closely with clinical, operational, and corporate leaders to drive measurable results.

Performance Excellence Advisor bring strong analytical depth, advanced knowledge of healthcare data, and the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights. They serve as trusted advisors for assigned service lines or functions by monitoring and surfacing data-driven insights to executive leaders, identifying areas for action through data or other business context, and owning execution on those initiatives with demonstrated results.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership
  • Lead the design and execution of strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Structure complex problems into actionable components and guide project teams through execution.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration and maintain alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, anticipate barriers, and proactively drive solutions.

Advanced Analytical & Advisory Expertise
  • Conduct and oversee both standard/ongoing and targeted analyses to support initiatives and assigned service areas/functions using internal and external datasets from multiple sources.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling action-oriented insights and narratives for executive audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with administrative and clinical leaders, serving as a strategic thought partner.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource for assigned service lines or functions, offering ongoing performance insights in partnership with the relevant leadership.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations that drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, reports, and dashboards for senior leadership and governance bodies.

Team Collaboration & Capability Building
  • Contribute to the development of team methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Foster creativity, curiosity, and continuous improvement across the team.

Performance Excellence Advisor Requirements
  • 5+ years of job-related experience in a healthcare provider or health plan setting, with a background in strategic planning, project management, operations, analytics/business intelligence, or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, Market Research, Statistics, or related field).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with administrative and clinical partners.
  • Consulting experience a plus.
