Job Summary:

The People Services Manager leads all HR functions for Gravitate, reporting directly to the CFO and serving as the organization's primary expert in HR strategy and execution. The role oversees core areas such as talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, onboarding, performance management, and organizational development.

As the company's lead HR professional, you will play a critical role in cultivating a collaborative, inclusive, and connected employee experience that supports both business goals and employee success across a remote-first workforce.

It is a highly independent, decision-making position that requires strong judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to design and implement programs that foster a high-trust, high-autonomy culture.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the senior HR leader for Gravitate, providing counsel to the CFO and management team on talent strategy, org design, and change management.
  • Own the execution of HR programs aligned with Gravitate's business objectives and values, ensuring a scalable and people-first approach.
  • Champion Gravitate's employer brand to attract top talent.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance challenges.
  • Promote a high-autonomy, high-trust culture through fair policies, transparent communication, and proactive feedback loops.
  • Lead initiatives that foster employee engagement, belonging, and cross-functional collaboration, helping maintain a strong, connected culture across a geographically distributed workforce.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process to ensure a polished, professional, and consistent employee experience.
  • Administer and evolve employee benefits, 401(k), and compensation programs in alignment with market trends and business goals.
  • Evaluate and recommend benefits and perks that support attraction and retention, working with brokers and external partners as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Develop, document, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Manage immigration cases in collaboration with legal counsel and leadership.
  • Implement and manage performance review cycles, goal-setting, and feedback processes.
  • Identify growth and development pathways for employees, especially early-career talent, while providing light-touch support for senior staff.
  • Maintain accurate HR data and generate reports on key people metrics.
  • Support the selection, implementation, and optimization of HR technology tools.
  • Lead recruitment strategies and hiring operations for all Gravitate roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements, develop job descriptions, and drive selection and offer processes.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven ability to operate independently with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Google Workspace
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR generalist or HR manager roles.
  • Experience in a high-growth tech or software company is strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, employment immigration, recruiting, and benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of U.S. labor laws and employment regulations.
