People & Culture Business Partner and Consultant

The Role

As a People & Culture Business Partner/Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the People and Culture team. Reporting directly to Executive Director P&C Business Partner, this role will focus on operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring effective HR processes, immigration coordination, and a positive employee experience. Here's How You'll Contribute:
  • Business Partner: In collaboration with both Executive Director P&C Business Partners, provide strategic business partner support to teams across the business working primarily with LT -1 on initiatives such as team building, workforce planning, org structure and new leader assimilations.
  • Employee Relations & Support: Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers, handling inquiries related to HR policies, and employee relations. Provide guidance on performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Assist with the onboarding process to ensure new hires are welcomed effectively and have the necessary tools for success. Facilitate exit processes, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring a smooth transition. Leverage the findings from exit interviews to improve the culture and address needed change.
  • HR Operations & Data Management: Manage HR transactions, including job changes, promotions, compensation adjustments and terminations in Workday. Ensure accuracy in all people data and generate reports to support decision-making. Partner with Operations team on reporting and data needs that support business insights and decisions. Partner with external counsel, manager, and employees to manage case requirements, timelines, and documentation.
  • Talent Development Support: Partner with the Executive Director of Talent Development to identify training and development needs then design initiatives to address those needs. May include external partnership selection and management or internal design and facilitation depending on the needs and solution.
  • Culture Enhancement: Leveraging data and insights gathered from experience with the business, identify and help design culture driving programs by engaging in company initiatives, gathering feedback, and promoting an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
  • Collaborate with P&C Teams: Partner with colleagues across the People and Culture team to execute HR strategies and initiatives aligned with organizational goals, including employee engagement and retention strategies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in HR, is required. Preferably with a mix of experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments, and more established organizations. Prior experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry, ideally supporting a Research and Development or another scientific group, is desired.
  • Previously designed and deployed innovative P&C technology driven and AI-first support tools. Comfort embracing technology, particularly in leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance People and Culture initiatives, improve efficiency, and drive better employee experiences.
  • Experience overseeing employment-based immigration matters, including H-1B, OPT/STEM, TN, and permanent residence process, is required.
  • Strong understanding of foundational HR principles, including compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines; a high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.

Compensation: The base salary range provided reflects our current estimate of what we anticipate paying for this position. Your actual base salary will be based on several factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, relevant education or training, and market dynamics. In addition, you will be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and a competitive benefits package.

$116,000-$150,000 USD
