Full Job Description
Position Summary
The Pega Lead System Architect provides technical leadership for the design and implementation of enterprise workflow and case management solutions using the Pega Platform. This role is responsible for defining system architecture, establishing development standards, and guiding development teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions that support mission requirements. The Lead System Architect works closely with program leadership, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions. This role will also design, develop, test, and implement Pega solutions as needed to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Project Lead
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation of Pega based applications and solutions, as well as contribute directly to any phase of the software development lifecycle as needed.
  • Define system architecture, class structures, rulesets, and application frameworks within the Pega Platform.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Pega and external systems using APIs, REST, SOAP, and messaging services.
  • Establish development standards, coding best practices, and Pega guardrails across the team.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews.
  • Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
  • Support system upgrades, platform enhancements, and troubleshooting of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with program managers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting body, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CPLSA), Certified Pega Senior System Architect (CPSSA), and/or Certified Pega Business Architect (CPBA). Note : Pega Certifications will be verified through Pega Academy.
  • Proficiency in Pega Express
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining Pega Guardrail compliance across enterprise implementations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing workflow and business process management solutions using the Pega Platform.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing technical leadership, architecture guidance, or mentoring development teams.
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, APIs, or other web services.
  • Experience working within Agile or iterative development environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Pega architecture, case management, workflow automation, and rules engine design.
  • Ability to Obtain and Maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government programs.
  • Experience with the Constellation UI Framework
  • Experience designing applications utilizing Pega Blueprint
  • Experience with cloud-based deployments such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of related technologies such as Java, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with the Pega Community and Expert Circles (especially the Blueprint & App Design circle)

Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance is required for this position. Must be a US Citizen.
