What You Will Do:

The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
  • Examines individuals requesting care, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines
  • Educates individuals in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention
  • Communicate with dental staff on our team regarding patient treatment plans
  • Supervises the clinical work of the dental assistants and hygienists

Eligibility: Benefits are available to employees working 30+ hours per week, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Compensation Disclosure:

The compensation range listed reflects Elica's good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and qualification.

Language Skills (Preferred):
Bilingual or multilingual communication skills in English and Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, or Spanish are preferred to support the needs of the communities we serve, where more than 50% of patients report a primary language other than English.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be board certified or board eligible and licensed to practice medicine in the State of California
  • Practice medicine in the State of California
  • Current, valid and unsuspended State of California medical licensure.
  • DEA X-license required (waiver)
  • Current CPR certification required
  • At least 2 years experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons preferred.
  • Current, standard dental practices, treatments, and tests
  • Current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to serve medically underserved families required

Additional Requirements
  • Must have a current and valid California driver's license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The work environment is characteristic of a dental clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
