Full Job Description
Role and Facility Information

We are currently recruiting for a Developmental Pediatrician to join our multi-disciplinary team to provide assessments of children, adolescents, and their families referred to the Vancouver Island Children's Assessment Network.

Key responsibilities include:
• Medical and developmental evaluation completed within an inter-disciplinary team . The team completes comprehensive diagnostic assessments with specialized populations including children who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences and where developmental queries exist for conditions such as Intellectual Developmental Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
• The successful candidate will receive specialized training and/or support from the British Columbia Autism Assessment Network and Complex Developmental and Behavioural Conditions provincial services.
• Medical evaluation goals are to;
o Determine possible medical etiology/etiologies of the disorder.
o Determine possible overlapping, comorbid/concurrent medical conditions.
o Provide a general health profile of the child/youth.
o Determine the need for additional specialty consultations.
o Make recommendations along with the assessment team regarding interventions, follow-up and subsequent referrals.
• Travel on Vancouver Island may be available.

Additional Information:

Locum: 1 year (February 2025-February 2026) There are options for part-time schedules.
