Position Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expanding Division. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

Position Highlights:

• We are seeking a collaborative physician leader with expertise in sickle cell disease, a passion for advancing patient-centered care, and a commitment to clinical excellence, program development, education, research, and health equity. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointment ideally includes serving as the Clinical Director for the Sickle Cell Disease Program, to provide strategic and operational leadership while maintaining an active clinical practice. The successful candidate will partner with institutional leadership, faculty, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and community stakeholders to strengthen and expand comprehensive SCD services across the continuum of care.
• This individual will play a key role in advancing clinical initiatives, developing innovative models of care, promoting research and clinical trial participation, and enhancing patient outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Clinical effort will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, academic interests, and leadership responsibilities as Clinical Director of the Sickle Cell Disease Program.
• Will join a vibrant community of clinicians and researchers at a strong academic institution
• The Children's Wisconsin sickle cell program serves approximately 400 unique patients each year and provides comprehensive care for individuals living with sickle cell disease and related disorders. The program includes specialized outpatient services, inpatient consultation, infusion services, transition programs, psychosocial support, patient education, and access to cutting-edge therapies and clinical research opportunities.
• Strong connection with transplant and gene therapy programs as well as community partners
• No oncology service required
• The hematology clinical provider team consists of physicians, fellows, residents, and APPs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

Schedule:

• Will cover both outpatient clinic and inpatient service (classical hematology and hematology consults)
• The hematology service shares night and weekend call for hematology patients; call is not shared with oncology
• Salaried (Exempt)

The Division of Hematology / Oncology / Blood and Marrow Transplant provides treatment for infants, children, teens and young adults with blood disorders including cancer, non-malignant blood diseases, immunodeficiency states and bleeding disorders. Qualifications:

• Medical/Doctoral degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification (or eligibility) in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology specialty.
• State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain license, in the state of Wisconsin.
• Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful finalist.

Children's Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Children's Wisconsin provides primary care, urgent care, emergency care, specialty care, mental and behavioral health services, community health services, foster and adoption services, child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year, the Children's Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care, advocacy, research and education. In Northeast Wisconsin, Children's Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care. Children's and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin - the Children's Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children's Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In [redacted], CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; gastroenterology and GI surgery; nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery; pulmonology and Urology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions.
