Pediatric Endocrinologist

The UBC Department of Pediatrics and BCCH are seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist.

The Division of Endocrinology at BCCH includes 15 academic faculty, as well as a team of dedicated clinical nurse specialists, dietitians and social workers. The vision of the Division is: 'Empowered patients, exemplary team, ever-evolving care, and excellence in education and research.' The Division aims to maintain its status of academic excellence through ongoing clinical and pre-clinical/discovery research, and the education of future health care providers through a successful Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons accredited fellowship training program.

The Division of Endocrinology is comprised of 3 key clinical programs:
  1. The Diabetes Program serves children and youth
  2. The Endocrinology Program serves as a consultation service to children and youth
  3. The Gender Program, one of the busiest in North America, serves transgender and gender-diverse youth

The successful applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist's license to practice medicine in British Columbia as well as Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and Fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism (or equivalents). We welcome applications from candidates who are early career (recently graduated from fellowship training) and have had a third year of training dedicated to scholarly activity (i.e., research, education). We especially welcome candidates who are mid-career (3 to 5 years working as a pediatric endocrinologist) and are interested in advancing their leadership skills in medical operations and quality improvement. A Master's Degree or equivalent post-graduate training is considered an asset. The proposed position will have a clinical component that includes outpatient clinics in endocrinology, including gender, and diabetes, in-patient service and call, and outreach/virtual care. They will also be expected to participate in administrative/leadership, research/quality improvement (including opportunities to lead clinical trials), or other scholarly activity that align with the vision and priorities of the Division of Endocrinology and Department of Pediatrics. The successful applicant will participate in educational activities including academic rounds, fellow/resident teaching, and research supervision of trainees. They may also participate in provincial educational and care coordination activities aimed at growing capacity for high-quality equitable pediatric endocrinology and diabetes care close to home.

UBC Clinical faculty rank and salary will be commensurate upon your personal experience and qualifications.

The anticipated start date for the position is early 2027.
