Job Description

We are seeking candidates for a hospitalist position in our Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). Successful applicants will be energetic BE/BC pediatricians interested in high acuity pediatric cardiac intensive care. Applicants should have a strong interest in clinical service and multidisciplinary collaboration. PCICU Hospitalists work exclusively in the PCICU, rounding with the interdisciplinary PCICU team and performing a wide array of PCICU-based procedures on a shift-based schedule.

Responsibilities

  • PCICU hospitalists serve as frontline providers for all patients including:
    • Post-operative congenital heart disease patients ranging from infants to young adults
    • Medical cardiac patients
    • Patients supported with ECMO ranging from infants to young adults
    • Patients supported with VADs ranging from infants to young adults
  • There is opportunity and education to achieve procedural competency for intubation, arterial lines, and PICC line placement, as well as other common pediatric procedures
  • There is opportunity to collaborate on quality improvement and clinical research projects
  • Our average daily census is 5-6 patients
  • The PCICU team includes 10 Intensivists, 6 PCCM fellows, 6 PCICU APPs who specialize in pediatric cardiac ICU care, pediatric residents, medical students, and more than 25 full-time nurses, as well as dedicated PCICU respiratory therapists, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, music therapists and child life specialists.

This is an excellent opportunity both for career hospitalists and for recent residency graduates considering future training in pediatric cardiology and/or pediatric critical care medicine.

Qualifications

Compensation range from $160K to $200K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
