Full Job Description
Overview

We are seeking a full-time PCB Design Team Leader at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for leading engineering team efforts to support relevant engineering functions.

Essential Functions
  • Align team on department goals and drive accountability to achieve
  • Manage key performance metrics for team members and the department
  • Execute department and engineering processes/policies and recommend department process/policy improvements
  • Manage schedules, effort, and cost
  • Track and distribute information to other Garmin departments
  • Collaborate with other Garmin teams to improve cross-functional communication and productivity
  • Interview, hire, train, set goals, and appraise performance for associates
  • Provide associates with equipment, tools, and information needed to do their jobs with maximum efficiency
  • Manage team cost center expenses, head count, and allocations

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering or technical discipline AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an electronics design or engineering environment
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and display an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders in a professional and timely manner
  • Ability to effectively learn and apply appropriate standards, technologies, and processes
