What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a PCB Designer to design, test and sustain electronic Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and chiller control panels. You will be apart of our Chiller Controls Engineering team where you will conduct architectural design, prototype build, functional testing, reliability testing and confirm that the product operates as expected with reference to specific documented hardware requirements. This role is onsite in our JCI Advanced Engineering and Development Center based in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Only US citizens and/or permanent residents of the US will be considered.

How you will do it
  • Develop and maintain electronic hardware for chiller control.
  • Design of analog and digital interface circuits, development of power supply circuits and/or selection of power supplies.
  • Perform worst case circuit analysis and incorporation of appropriate reliability principles to ensure reliable operation over the environmental specifications.
  • Assist chiller team to develop, test and support chiller system controls. This includes selection of system components and proper interfacing of them to electronic control panel I/O.
  • Design and maintain PCBAs including both schematic and layout using design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Design and maintain chiller control panels composed of enclosure, connectors, cable/harness, HMI, PCBAs and other electronic components.
  • Obtain agency approvals such as UL, CE and FCC on Printed Circuit boards and Electronic Panels.
  • Independently conduct and apply cost analysis to feasibility studies on proposed designs or modifications to existing designs.
  • Develop schedules which accurately reflect the project milestones and adhere to them.
  • Integrate new and modify existing processes to cover all phases of the electronic development process.
  • Provide guidance to drafters and product technical support and Manufacturing factories on chiller control panel products.
  • Understanding and complying with quality policy, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
