Blue Projects' Project Delivery & Engineering team is looking for a PC&IS / Process Engineer (Multiple Openings) to join our team in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Role Overview

As a PC&IS / Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting electrical, automation and process control systems that enable safe, compliant and efficient industrial operations. The role combines hands-on engineering expertise with project coordination, technical leadership and collaboration across multidisciplinary, international teams and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of complex engineering programs.

Job Description
  • Lead the design and implementation of electrical and automation systems, including power distribution, PLCs and control systems, to support safe and efficient industrial operations.
  • Manage engineering projects in line with defined timelines, budgets and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors to coordinate design, procurement, installation and commissioning activities across international teams and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards by performing risk assessments, equipment reviews and technical evaluations to protect people and assets.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic support through cost estimation, stakeholder communication and team mentorship to ensure successful delivery of large scale engineering programs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent foreign degrees are accepted.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a PC&IS / Process Engineer, Automation Engineer or in a related engineering role.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, developing and testing PLC and HMI programs for automation controls used in manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven experience reviewing and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and user requirement specifications for new and existing equipment.
  • Experience reviewing, evaluating, fabricating, installing and validating control systems, processes and technical designs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to Europe, Canada and within the United States, based on project requirements.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model, with telecommuting permitted up to four (4) days per week.
