Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for US/global employees.
  • Administer payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, commissions, and benefit deductions.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing exceptional customer service and timely resolution.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, documentation, and internal controls.
  • Reconcile payroll registers, payroll taxes, benefit deductions, and general ledger accounts while partnering with Accounting on month-end close activities.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including reviewing and validating W-2s before distribution and supporting payroll audits.

Position: Payroll Specialist

Location: Bellevue, WA Headquarters-Hybrid (3 days per week)

Annual Salary Range: $85,000 - $91,000

We're looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing while supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong payroll foundation who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Your Next Opportunity:

  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for US/global employees.
  • Administer payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, commissions, and benefit deductions.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing exceptional customer service and timely resolution.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, documentation, and internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Reconcile payroll registers, payroll taxes, benefit deductions, and general ledger accounts while partnering with Accounting on month-end close activities.

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and prepare and file monthly Australian payroll tax returns.
  • Support external audits and provide payroll reporting as needed.

What Qualifies You:

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a fast-paced organization.
  • Experience with Rippling Payroll strongly preferred.
  • Experience processing end-of-year (EOY) payroll activities and year-end reporting preferred.
  • Experience supporting global payroll or international payroll vendors is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, customer-service mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll integrations.
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology company is preferred.
