Job Summary:

The U.S. Payroll Services Manager will lead a team of payroll professionals and oversee various payroll processes, including Certified Payroll, Union dues & benefits processing, Overpayments & Garnishments. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll management, with specific expertise in these payroll services. This role requires strong team leadership skills, knowledge in legal standards, and a focus on process automation and continuous improvement. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our payroll processes and is a critical member of the North America Payroll Leadership Team.

What you will do:
  • Lead and manage a team of 8 payroll professionals, providing guidance, support, and development.
  • Manage certified payroll processes, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws and regulations, in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Manage union dues and deductions for multiple sales and service unions in North America, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Calculate and manage fringe benefits, ensuring accurate and compliant processing.
  • Administer garnishments and tax levies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Manage overpayments, including identification, recovery, and resolution.
  • Oversee escheatment management, ensuring compliance with state laws.
  • Coordinate payroll audits, both internal and external, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve payroll services efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage change requests and payroll-related projects, ensuring successful implementation and integration.
  • Oversee payroll aspects of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports, including PeopleSoft query reporting on wages.
  • Coordinate and respond to Department of Labor (DOL) audits, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.


What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or 7 years of payroll management.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management with specific experience in union payroll, certified payroll/prevailing wage, overpayments, and garnishments.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Canada experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing a payroll team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, with experience in automation and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.


Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:
$75,700.00 - $107,660.00
