Location: Mississauga

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations from a strategic perspective. You will partner with senior leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve payroll processes, and ensure compliance across Canada (including Quebec) and the US.

This role requires strong leadership, critical thinking, and the ability to translate payroll insights into actionable business recommendations.

Based in Mississauga, this position starts on-site for training before moving to a hybrid schedule, reporting to the Senior Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for employees across multiple locations
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, identifying opportunities to optimize payroll processes, reduce costs, and implement innovative solutions
  • Manage and coach payroll team members for performance and growth
  • Monitor and interpret payroll legislation changes in Canada and the US, and advise stakeholders accordingly
  • Oversee payroll audits to maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with government agencies and internal departments to resolve payroll-related inquiries or issues
  • Prepare and review payroll-related reports for leadership decision-making
  • Manage payroll projects and system enhancements with a focus on efficiency and process improvement
Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of proven payroll experience in multi-jurisdictional environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian (including Quebec) and US payroll legislation
  • ADP Workforce Now expertise
Education & Certifications:
  • Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business preferred
